Author Bio: John Bower
John Bower was the senior partner in a small animal veterinary hospital practice in Plymouth for nearly forty years. His special interests include cat and dog medical problems. John was president of the British Small Animal Veterinary Association in 1984/5 and the British Veterinary Association in 1989/90. John has co-authored several dog, cat and veterinary books including The Dog Owner's Veterinary Handbook [Crowood 1989, third impression 2006], which he wrote with David Youngs and which is a companion volume to this present book. John was awarded the MBE in the 2010 New Year Honours' List.
