The Filipino martial arts are fast and dynamic and utilise a diverse range of training methods to augment the journey towards achieving advance abilities in defending against weapons-based or empty-hand encounters.

Supplemented by over 320 colour photographs, this exciting book explores the fundamental, intermediate and advanced techniques of double and single stick categories that are standard across many systems of the Filipino martial arts.

" Finally! A book on the Filipino art of Eskrima that is both concise and comprehensive. This by far the best book on the subject I have ever read (and I own many books on Eskrima). "

" I bought this book as soon as it was available and I was not disappointed. Peter Lewis has presented a framework for a deeper understanding of the Filipino Martial Arts. The book covers movements from the Bakbakan Kali double stick and single stick curriculum in a step by step manner moving from basic to more advanced techniques. There is enough material in this book to cover several years of training. I recommend that anyone with an interest in the Warrior Arts of the Philippines add this book to their library as it is one of the best books written on the subject. "
