This is a comprehensive history of the fighter and the many different variants that have been produced and some that are still being developed. The book is based on documents supplied by Sukhoi, interviews with design and engineerng employees of the company, and all available information that has been published on the aircraft. It contains development history, operational service, technical details and explanations of each model in the range. Technical drawings abound and there are many colour and monotone photographs throughout the book. This is the ultimate reference to this fabulous fighter.
Critics praise for Yefim Gordon's two books, Mikoyan MiG-29 Fulcrum and Sukhoi Su-27 Flanker:Yefim Gordon has emerged to become an acknowledged expert on Soviet military aviation, and his knowledge of these two Russian fighters, both conceived to meet complementary roles, is astonishing. The development history of each type is trace minutely, and one is tempted to say that this degree of detail would be unavailable for a book on any comtemporary Western fighter aircraft. Excellent reading and highly recommended. - AIR-BRITAIN DIGEST

Highly recommended. - AEROSPACE
