Here are stunning and unique paint schemes applied to a wide range of military aircraft to celebrate special occasions.

Aircraft seen in the period 1990-2000 are included and many of the world’s air forces are featured. Mark Attrill’s superb photography illustrates many of the special or commemorative markings that have been applied to modern aircraft during the last decade.

Mark Attrill, a serving officer in the Royal Air Force, has had a lifelong interest in military aviation and photography. Ten years ago he was invited to contribute his first photo-essay to an Asian-Pacific aviation journal, whilst serving in Hong Kong. Since then he has produced illustrated articles for a number of specialist aviation magazines in the UK and Japan.
