Fine Tuning and Maintaining 00 Gauge Models
|INSIDE:||415 colour photographs|
Locomotive and layout maintenance is an essential aspect of the railway modelling, but one that is little understood by modellers, especially those new to the hobby or returning after a long absence. Fine Tuning and Maintaining 00 Gauge Models shows you all of the techniques required to introduce new models to your layout, run them in, fit all of the parts supplied with them and undertake repairs where necessary. It includes advice on how to carry out routine maintenance, shows the reader techniques for fine-tuning performance and discusses the important issues surrounding conversion to the finer scales.
- Running in new models
- Fitting factory-supplied parts
- Mechanical enhancements
- Simple enhancements
- Keeping the layout running smoothly
"All in all, an excellent book for those keen on improving the running and maintenance of their rolling stock in any scale, it should save its cover price alone in reduced wear and tear, and immeasurably improve enjoyment when running your railway!"

"This book will and hugely to your enjoyment of your model railway by helping you keep all your rolling stock in top shape. Its range includes repairs to the running quality, super detailing and weathering. Its best value will be in having it to hand as a constant workbench reference. Everything you need to know is explained and done so in a very readable style with excellent illustrations. Not only does it show you how but recommends tools and products required, and that leads to my only criticism. It could to with an appendix of tools and products, because at it is, you will need to note them as you read the text. "
