About the author

The daughter of a Cornish sheep farmer, Kim Cardell studied agriculture at Lincoln University in New Zealand and also trained as a newspaper reporter. She was associate editor of the magazine Livestock Farming and, having worked as a freelance for various farming journals and radio and television programmes, became editor of The Sheep Farmer, holding the post for fourteen years. She runs a flock of early lambing ewes at her home in Cornwall.
